Who we are.

Our Mission

Our goal at Park Avenue is to provide opportunities for each person to grow in their faith. Whether through discipleship, missions or service, there are numerous ways to be involved in the life of our church. We have programs for all ages, but we are also aware that you can attend church, experience it’s life and participate, but not grow in faith.
Our mission is to provide ministries and opportunities that will encourage a deeper growth and fuller dependence upon Christ. We do this by our belief to LOVE ALL and DISCIPLE 1000’s.

At Park Avenue, we have identified our core values from which our actions flow. We believe these are vital to our church and hope you see them in all we do!

Jesus had compassion for those in need. This compassion is more then physical needs, but also includes the needs we have for comfort, mercy, love, and justice. (Matthew 14:13-18, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

The purpose of the Church is to grow one another in wisdom and knowledge of God. Doing this allows us to live a life worth of the Lord. (Colossians 1:9-14)

The fullness of life is found in Jesus Christ. (John 10:9-10)

Our walk with Christ brings us into fellowship with God and one another as we walk together in the light. (1 John 1:5-7)

We can hear the call to be a family in Romans 12:9-21. We believe that you will feel a part of the family here at PAUMC!

Christ gave us the example to serve others in the Upper Room as He washed the feet of the disciples (John 13:12-17). The apostle Paul also gives us this directive in 2 Corinthians 4:4-6.

To be the Church, we must be in direct conversation with our God. Matthew 21:22 tells us that if we believe, we will receive what we ask in prayer. We hope that you will prayer for your church, staff, and each other, that we might be broken and spilled out for Christ Jesus in this world! (2 Chronicles 6:19)

The United Methodist Church has endeavored to become a community in which all person, regardless of race or ethnic background, can participate in every level of its connectional life and ministry.

We share the conviction that God has mercy and love for all people. We believe in the triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We have faith in the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ. We celebrate the sacred moments of faith which we witness in our sacraments of communion and baptism.

We Believe-

  • We believe in the primacy of grace, that God loves all creation and acts in humanity through the Holy Spirit.
  • Christians should allow the Holy Spirit to shape them into the image of Christ. We work for a world of reconciliation, peace, justice, and love.
  • Even though all are sinners, God has given each of us worth and moral responsibility. Chief among God’s purposes is for us to have reconciliation with God and that is accomplished through Jesus Christ. It is in this reconciliation and relationship that we find the fullness of life.
  • We believe that God forgives sins and changes the human heart when we repent and trust in Christ.
  • We believe that personal salvation leads to involvement in mission to the world and social actions.
  • We believe that God’s prevenient grace runs ahead of our impulses and leads our hearts tower faith.
  • We believe in tolerance, acknowledging that differing viewpoints exist even within the same community of believers.
